About the Journal
Convergent Materials Horizons (CMH, E-ISSN: 3120-3612) is an open-access platform with the synergistic convergence of fundamental materials science with disruptive technological applications. Our journal serves as an international crucible for cross-disciplinary collaboration, bridging theoretical insights from chemistry, physics, and computational sciences with engineering implementation to address critical global challenges. The journal is published online semiannual by Cultech Publishing Sdn. Bhd.
CMH invites original research and comprehensive reviews across three strategic domains of materials innovation:
I. Sustainable Materials Systems
• Circular economy-enabling materials: Closed-loop manufacturing, industrial byproduct valorization, geopolymer technologies
• Eco-conscious construction materials: Bio-based composites, high-performance concrete systems, sustainable pavement engineering
• Low-carbon processing technologies: Energy-efficient manufacturing, waste-to-resource conversion systems
• Environmental responsive materials: Climate-adaptive coatings, self-healing surfaces, corrosion/abrasion-resistant alloys
II. Energy & Functional Materials
• Advanced energy systems: Next-gen photovoltaics, solid-state batteries, hydrogen storage materials
• Quantum-engineered materials: Topological insulators, 2D heterostructures, spintronic interfaces
• Smart functional materials: Neuromorphic computing substrates, IoT-enabled sensors, phase-change memory systems
• Extreme-environment materials: Radiation-tolerant alloys, thermal barrier coatings, seismic-resistant composites
III. Bio-Integrated Materials
• Biomimetic architectures: Bio-inspired self-assembly, structural-color materials, nature-derived polymers

Open Access: This journal operates under a "gold" Open Access model, providing free access to all readers. The Article Processing Charges (APC) for all article types (research article, review, et al.) is $0, and the content will be published under a CC BY 4.0 license. To encourage submissions and support the research community, CMH currently levies no APC (0 APC). For specific APC policies, please refer to the Open Access section.
Processing Cycle: The manuscript processing cycle is approximately 12 weeks from submission to acceptance.
Recognition of Reviewers: Reviewers who provide timely, thorough peer-review reports receive vouchers entitling them to a discount on the APC of their next publication in CMH, in appreciation of the work done.
